The Signs Begin
Introduction
In this message from John 2, we see that Jesus is not distant from our everyday lives. At the wedding, He revealed His glory through more than a miracle—He gave a sign of His care, His presence, and His overflowing grace. This sermon reminds us that Jesus meets us in the ordinary, works in ways we may not always see, and offers more than enough for every need of the heart.

Study Questions
1. What’s something small or ordinary that turned out to be way more important than you expected?
2. John calls this miracle a “sign” rather than just a miracle. What’s the difference, and why does that matter for how we read this passage?
3. What does it tell us about Jesus that His first public sign happens at a wedding instead of a religious or political setting? What does this tell us about how God interacts with us?
4. Only a few people actually knew what Jesus did. Why do you think He chose to work unseen instead of making it public? Can you think of a time when God was working in your life in a way you didn’t recognize until later?
5. What is the significance of Jesus using purification jars for this miracle? Read John 13:5 & 10, and Matthew 26:27-29. How does the wedding point forward to Jesus’s crucifixion and foreshadow the coming of the new covenant?
6. Last week, Pastor Keven said, “We don’t have to live in fear of our sins because Jesus’s blood is more than enough for everything.” What does it mean to have abundance in Jesus? What are some false messages of abundance typically found in churches?
7. CALL TO ACTION: Memorize 2 Corinthians 9:8. Share with someone an area where you are still trying to handle things on your own instead of trusting Jesus to transform it. Look for an ordinary moment where Jesus is working in your life and then share that with someone.
