Sowing the Wind

Introduction

Misplaced Loyalties” — Hosea 8

In this challenging message from Hosea 8, we’re reminded that God alone deserves our ultimate loyalty, worship, and confidence. Pastor Keven unpacks how Israel’s political pride and misplaced trust led them into idolatry — and how the same danger faces believers today when we mix faith with worldly priorities. As citizens of God’s Kingdom first, we’re called to worship Him alone and live as faithful ambassadors of Christ in every part of life.

3.      Read Philippians 3:20–21. What does it mean to be a citizen of heaven, and how does this shape your earthly priorities?

4.      How can seeing ourselves as “ambassadors” and “exiles” change the way we relate to politics, culture, and even other believers?

5.      When do you find it most tempting to mix your faith and your national or cultural identity? How do you know when you’ve crossed the line?

6.      Last week, Pastor Keven said, “When we give our loyalty to the Kingdom of God above all other kingdoms, we begin to see the beauty of the global church.” What excites or challenges you about being part of a kingdom that transcends borders?

7.      CALL TO ACTION: Memorize Philippians 3:20. Share with someone where you’ve struggled with misplaced loyalty. Do something to connect to the global church. (Example: pray or write to a missionary or read about and pray for persecuted Christians.)
