God’s Relentless Heart

Introduction

“The Heart of the Father” – Hosea 11

This message from Hosea 11 invites us to see God’s love through the eyes of a perfect Father — one whose heart remembers, breaks, and never gives up on His children. Though we may wander, God patiently calls us back, arms open wide, ready to restore and remind us that we belong to Him. No matter how far you’ve run, the Father’s light is still on — waiting to welcome you home.

Study Questions

1.      Was there ever a time a parent, friend, or mentor went out of their way to care for you even when you didn’t appreciate it?

2.      Look at Hosea 11:1–4 and read Psalm 103:13. What do these verses reveal about the way God relates to His people? How does the “parent” image shape your view of God?

3.      When in your life have you recognized in hindsight that God was meeting your needs or guiding you even when you didn’t notice? How has that shaped your future obedience?

4.      Read Luke 15:11–24 (the Prodigal Son). How does Jesus’ story echo the heart of God shown in Hosea 11?

5.      How do misconceptions about God, as a tyrant or rule-enforcer, make it hard to experience His love or turn back to Him? Where in your life do you see evidence of God’s patience and pursuit, even during your seasons of running or rebellion?

6.      Last week, Paster Keven said, “When you return to God and run into his arms, you’ll be home.” What does this show about God’s refusal to give up on us? How does that encourage you today?

7.      CALL TO ACTION: Memorize Psalm 103:13. Share with someone one area where you’ve struggled to trust God’s love. Take a specific step to “come home” to God in some area of your life, whether it’s confession, prayer, obedience, or reconciliation with someone.
