Who is this Jesus?
Introduction
We are excited to begin a new sermon series through the Gospel of John as we ask the most important question ever asked: Who is this Jesus? In John chapter 1, we discover that Jesus is the eternal Word, the true Light who overcomes darkness, and the fullness of grace who came to dwell among us. Before we explore what Jesus did, we first explore who He is — fully God, fully man, Creator and Redeemer. Join us as we journey verse by verse through this powerful Gospel and grow in a deeper understanding of the One who brings life, light, and hope to the world.

Study Questions
1. When you first meet someone, what’s something you want to know about them right away? Why?
2. Read John 1:1–3. Why does John begin his Gospel “in the beginning” instead of at Bethlehem? What is he teaching us about Jesus by connecting Him to Genesis 1?
3. Last week, Pastor Keven said, “The one who holds creation power is also the one who holds recreation power.” How does that reshape the way you think about Jesus compared to seeing Him as just a teacher or prophet?
4. Read Colossians 1:15–20. How does this expand John’s claim that all things were created through Christ? What does it mean that the One who created you also sustains you?
5. Read John 1:4–5 and John 14:6. What are some “false lights” people follow today, ideas, identities, or spiritual paths? How can we discern the difference between a false light and the true Light?
6. Why is it essential that Jesus is fully God and fully man (John 1:14–18)? How does the argument that humanity had the responsibility for sin but only God had the ability to pay for it help you understand why the incarnation was necessary? How does this show the Jesus as the fullness of grace?
7. CALL TO ACTION: Memorize John 1:14. Share with someone this week which title of Jesus, Eternal Word, True Light, or Fullness of Grace, has impacted you most and why. Perform an act of undeserved grace to someone who needs it.
