The Promised Spirit
Introduction
There is a thirst deep within every heart that nothing in this world can satisfy. Jesus invites us to come to Him—the true source of living water—and find the relationship with God our souls were created for. And when His Spirit fills us, that living water isn’t meant to stop with us; it should overflow through our love, our words, and our lives so that others can experience the love of Jesus too. Come thirsty, be filled, and let His Spirit overflow.

3. It’s important to recognize and confess spiritual thirst before God can satisfy it. Why is honesty about our spiritual exhaustion so difficult to admit? How do we get over this?
4. How does the incarnation remove the roadblocks between us and God so that we can understand the kind of relationship God wants with us? Why is that important to know how to communicate to others?
5. What does it mean for a Christian to move from being only a recipient of God’s grace to becoming a conduit through which others experience it? Why did God design discovering him this way?
6. Read Galatians 5:22–23. What are the practical signs that the Holy Spirit is overflowing from your life into the people you live and work with? How do you get better at this?
7. Memorize John 7:37–38. Share with your group or a trusted friend one area where you have been trying to satisfy spiritual thirst with something other than Jesus. Intentionally look for one opportunity this week to “become the overflow” by offering encouragement, prayer, or help to someone who is spiritual drained.
